Hi, my name is Shiri Diamond and I am the founder of Diamond Speech and Language, LLC. I am an ASHA certified and PROMPT Bridging trained Speech-Language Pathologist. I have been a Speech-Language Pathologist for 20 years, and have worked in the school, private practice, and early intervention settings.
I am proud to have graduated from The University of Pittsburgh in 2002 with a Master's degree in Communication Sciences and Disorders, and to have completed my Clinical Fellowship at The Kennedy Krieger Institute in partnership with Johns Hopkins University. I have a Bachelor's degree in Elementary and Kindergarten Education, and an Educational Specialist Certification. My background in education and literacy and my strong interest in child development guide my practice. I am dedicated to providing individualized and holistic speech and language therapy for your child. I work hard to help your child's confidence grow as they work towards and achieve their speech and language goals. I utilize your child's strengths and interests, as well as a play based approach to keep therapy fun and engaging.
My clinical interests include Stuttering , Early Intervention, and Speech Sound Disorders. I frequently attend courses and conferences by leaders in the field pertaining to these areas. I particularly enjoy working with children who stutter, and I utilize a variety of approaches to best help each child depending on their individual needs and learning style. I am trained in a variety of approaches for preschool and school-age stuttering, including the Lidcombe Program. In July, 2022, I was awarded the Ally of Stuttering Speech-Language Pathologist Seal by Spero Stuttering. I am commited to supporting and guiding children who stutter and their families.
I also love working with children who are developing early speech and language skills. This is where my expertise in education and play-based therapy really shine. Children learn through play, and therefore, make progress while having fun! I also love working with children who have speech-sound disorders. I integrate speech therapy with a literacy-based approach and am trained in Dynamic Temporal and Tactile Cueing (DTTC), PROMPT, and PROMPT Bridging. I am committed to continuing education so that I could provide you and your child with the best treatment possible. I am the recepient of 2 ASHA ACE Awards.
My goal is to give my clients and their families the self-confidence, pride, connection, and joy that come with finding their voice and communicating confidently. I will meet your child where they are, work together with you to support them, and celebrate your child's accomplishments with them and with you.
